Bauchi students condemn the state govt over late payments of bursary A group of dissatisfied Bauchi State indigent students under the aegis of Air Marshal Abubakar Sadiq Students Forum (AMASS FORUM) has condemned the state governor, Bala Mohammed over the late disbursement of the bursary of students in tertiary institutions

The chairman of the forum, Aliyu Hussaini, told newsmen in Bauchi on Monday, Feb 6, that the forum was concerned about the many problems facing Bauchi state students and is coming up with solutions to address the issue as it has begun to engage experts in various sections.

Hussaini said they were particularly concerned about 200 students of Malikiyya College of Health, whose sponsorship was offered by the previous administration and terminated by the current administration, and the segregation of Higher Islamic students and other tertiary institutions in the award of local scholarship.

The students who said the bursary had not been paid in the last four years, accused the governor of being hypocritical and only making payment because elections were fast approaching. They added that they were searching for the governor’s replacement who is competent, disciplined, and has vast administrative experiences.
